Hello, I'm Lucy! I am passionate about supporting my clients' journeys through mental health and addictions counseling. I believe a collaborative therapeutic relationship between my clients and myself is imperative. Developing a specialized treatment approach with each of my clients allows for trust, growth, and autonomy. My view on the therapeutic relationship is that I work for YOU! We work together to discover what your goals in therapy are and develop your tailored path to reaching those goals. I check in with my clients regularly in session to ensure we are continuing in the direction that is supporting their goals and meeting their needs. I will challenge you, coach you, encourage you to go emotionally deeper, and celebrate right along side you when you succeed.

I specialize in working with First Responder populations, men's mental health, trauma, mood disorders, and addictions. I am part of a First Responder family, my partner being a Firefighter Paramedic, and I understand the emergency responder culture and unique mental health challenges that First Responders face. My client's find my knowledge of this culture to help immensely in the therapy process.

I am committed to breaking the stigma that has been associated with accessing help for mental health services. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with my clients to allow for healing and re-ownership of their lives.

I look forward to meeting with you, wherever you are in life's journey.

I am also happy to discuss reduced fees for clients on a case by case basis.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

HOW FREQUENTLY SHOULD I GO TO THERAPY?

I request that new clients attend therapy at least once weekly for a minimum of 4-6 weeks to start out. This allows us to gain traction, build trust, and develop goals and direction for therapy. After this period of 4-6 weeks, we will discuss together a plan for frequency moving forward that feels best to both you as the client and me as the therapist.

DO YOU PROVIDE TELEHEALTH VIDEO SESSIONS?

Yes, I do provide telehealth video sessions via a secure and HIPPA compliant platform, as well as also offering in person sessions.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

I am currently not accepting insurance. Clients can request a superbill from me to submit for reimbursement with most insurance policies through my license.

If you reach out to your insurance company to inquire about out-of-network coverage through your plan, here are some good questions to ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible? How much is it and how much has been met?

  • What percentage of the therapy fee is covered?

  • How many sessions are covered per year?

With out-of-network coverage, it is your responsibility to pay for sessions directly to me and I will provide a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

DO YOU PROVIDE CRISIS SERVICES?

I do not provide crisis services. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact the Colorado Crisis Line at 1-844-493-8255, Text “TALK” to 38255, or

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Testimonials

I have been working with Lucy for several months now, and what I have found to be very helpful for me is her attention to detail in our sessions and with her comments/ feedback, her positive energy and outlook, and how obvious it is that she cares about her clients and the impact that her work can have on the lives of others.  Lucy is very honest and direct and I appreciate and need that from my therapist. I highly recommend her for anyone that needs help and is willing to put in the work necessary to make improvements in their life.

Lucy has been an incredible resource for me through my struggles with addiction, mental health (including emotional understanding, shame, perfectionism, boundaries, and men's issues), family issues, and marital issues. She has been a gentle, insightful guide. Her approach is well grounded and research based. I have seen many improvements in my life that are a direct result of her counseling.

Lucy has really encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and has created a space of allowing me to see myself.   She is a good listener, which I know is her job,  but she is good at figuring out what I am meaning when my words don't always come out. She is awesome and I recommend her highly.

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE ORENDA?

I provide a custom made approach to therapy for my clients. I empower my clients through helping them evaluate their values, find their why, and evoke daily growth and change. I come to the table with a strong medical, mental health, and addictions education and work experience background. This allows me to look at each of my clients holistically and support their journey from all angles.

DO YOU PROVIDE CRISIS SERVICES?

I do not provide crisis services. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact Colorado Crisis Line- 1-844-493-8255 or Text “TALK” to 38255. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest ER.
